Edeniq Provides Testimony at EPA Hearing on 2026-2027 Renewable Fuel Standard Proposal
Edeniq’s VP of Sales Mark Heckman highlighted how the RFS continues to drive innovation in cellulosic ethanol production and recognized the EPA’s ongoing efforts to support advanced biofuels.
On July 8, 2025, Edeniq’s VP of Sales Mark Heckman delivered testimony at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) hearing on the proposed 2026-2027 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Heckman highlighted how the RFS continues to drive innovation in cellulosic ethanol production and recognized the EPA’s ongoing efforts to support advanced biofuels.
Edeniq welcomes the EPA’s proposed RFS volumes as an important step forward for the ethanol industry. The proposal demonstrates the EPA’s continued commitment to expanding cellulosic ethanol production and supporting innovation and growth in advanced biofuels.
Currently, 119 ethanol facilities, or about 65 percent of the industry, are producing cellulosic ethanol using technologies like Edeniq’s, generating approximately 120 million D3 RINs annually. We encourage the EPA to maintain its forward-looking approach to support ongoing growth and innovation and we appreciate its continued use of important compliance tools like the Cellulosic Waiver Credit.
Edeniq remains committed to collaborating with the EPA, industry partners, and stakeholders to advance the success of the RFS and ensure continued investment in technology and efficiency for U.S. ethanol and agriculture.
